Morning Musing Over Coffee - Arise, Oh Sleepyhead, Arise

We are asleep with compasses in our hands. ~ W.S. Merwin

Sometimes I look around me, look at myself and wonder why we often seem so aimless! We live in a time and a land of opportunity. Yes, I am aware that things are changing and many of the freedoms and opportunities we once had are slipping away but that is no reason not to use to their fullest potential the ones that we do have. And regardless of our surroundings we have the greatest resource that ever was or will be and we never have to be afraid of losing it. We have a loving Heavenly Father who is always working for our good and we have His Word to guide us. We also have the dreams and abilities He has placed within us.

So why are we only dreaming of many wonderful things without taking action.

It's time to stop sleeping away our opportunities and awaken to the possibilities we have before us.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105 (NLT)

  1. Great post! Great advice! Time is short and the Lord wants His people to step into their fullest potential in Him as salt and light in the earth. Exactly the point of my new book, Mother Chicken's Eggs: Choosing to Grow into Greater Things. Thanks for dropping by my place . . . Joy to you!!
